Video Transcript for Review of Shocker Hitch Trailer Hitch Ball Mount - Impact Adjustable Cushioned Drawbar - SHK63RR

Hi everybody, Andy here with the etrailer.com and today we're taking a look at this Shocker impact cushion hitch with this cushioned adjustable drawbar for your two and a half inch hitch receiver. Now this is going to have a towing capacity of 12,000 pounds and this mount uses a bumper stop technology to reduce road shock and provide a more comfortable towing experience. It includes these twin bump stops that are going to dampen road shock. Now this hooks your trailer to your tow vehicle with this included cushioned draw bar mount. Now this drawbar attachment has a one-inch hole. I'm gonna try to show you here as best as I can.

This one inch hole to accommodate a variety of towing needs and the bump stops here, helps soften jerking before it reaches the tow vehicle. So this is going to be perfect for towing hay wagons and hydrous tanks and other farm applications. The mount itself is zinc-plated to prevent rust. An important note is this is not to be used with a hitch ball, so just be aware of that. Now included with this hitch are these two easy to remove pins.

These large rings are very easy to grasp and to remove, I can fit up to four of my fingers into each of the rings. So no more fumbling with small hitch pin heads. There's also with this large safety clip, that's gonna make removing the clips very easy and also putting them back into place very easy as well. I do want to let you know though it can be kind of tricky getting this safety pin in if you're close to the middle of this mount, so just be aware of that. Let me show you though how you can adjust this.

I'm just gonna pull out these safety clips and then let me turn this around. If I haven't mentioned it already, these rings can be folded in either direction to get out of your way, if you need to. So I'm gonna go ahead and remove the pin. Let me get a better hold of this. Just drop this down a little bit.

So I've got my pins in and I'm gonna go ahead and secure it with my safety clips. Now in this orientation, you're gonna get a maximum of three and a half inches of drop. And then when you flip the Shocker hitch over, you'll get a maximum rise of three and a half inches. So again, just gonna get this clip into my second pin and it looks like we are secured and ready to go. The inside width of this channel is sitting at a three and three quarters wide, in between that channel and then the distance between the vertical adjustment holes is sitting at an inch in between each of those holes. So this is going to work with all Shocker hitch ball mounts and attachments, including the standard mount, the drop mount, the pencil hook, and more. Of course, those attachments are sold separately, but you can find them under the related products section of this product page. I do want to point out that this also has a Zerk fitting at the pivot point that's going to make maintaining that pivot point very simple and easy. This is made in the USA and it's of a grade 50 steel plate construction and a cold rolled steel shank that's all gonna provide maximum durability. Again, the gross towing weight is 12,000 pounds. The tongue weight is 1200 pounds. The hitch itself is shot blasted and powder coated to prevent rust. And as we mentioned about the cushioned drawbar, that is zinc plated. And again, this is going to fit a two and a half inch trailer hitch receiver, and the hitch pin hole diameter is five eighths of an inch. This does not come with a pin and clip. So you would either have to provide that yourself if you already have one or that would be a separate purchase. However, I would recommend taking a look at the Infinite Rule locking pins for the shocker hitch ball mounts for two inch and two and a half inch hitches, you're gonna get three locking pins. One of those pins will lock and secure your Shocker hitch to your hitch receiver on the rear of your vehicle. And then the other two pins would replace these pins that come with your Shocker hitch and secure your attachment to your Shocker hitch. That's a great way to secure your investment. You can find those locking pins on our website using item number IR39FR. Now the distance between the first hitch pin hole to the center of the hole of our cushion drawbar, it's sitting right at about 13 and a half inches. And from the second hitch pin hole to the center of the hole on our cushion drawbar, is gonna be about 14 and a half inches, and this can accommodate hitch mounted mudflaps. But I think that's gonna conclude our look today. I hope it was helpful for you again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me..
